The Scoop: Dodge County PFA, a man-made 104-acre lake with submerged structures and standing timber, opened to the public in 1992 near Godwinsville, had its first stocking in 1991 and has There’s a public boat-launch site 3-miles southeast of Eastman. A non-resident fishing license costs $24 per season, $7 for 7 days and $3.50 for 1 day plus a Wildlife Management Area (WMA) stamp for $73.00. Lake Record: The biggest largemouth bass ever caught on this lake weighed 15-pounds, 8-ounces. The 2007 record bass weighed 14 pounds, 3 ounces.
When, Where and With What to Fish for a Big ‘Un: Fish the first week in February on the lake’s 8- to 12-foot-deep points, around the dam and in the southern half of the lake with 8- to 10-inch plastic worms, Texas-rigged, and medium-diving crankbaits.
Gear Tips: When worming and jigging, use a 7- to a 7-1/2-foot medium-heavy high-quality graphite rod with 14- to 17-pound-test Sufix monofilament line. Fish Sufix Elite line on medium-action rods for crankbaits.
