How to Become an Outdoor TV Host with Chad Schearer
Day 2: Chad Schearer Explains How to Get and Keep Sponsors for a TV Show
One big misconception that those who want to be outdoor TV hosts have is that outdoor companies have millions of dollars to spend with outdoor TV hosts to advertise their products. However, the pie for supporting outdoor television is only so big and can’t be sliced into smaller pieces. The last report I got was that there were more than 3,000 state, regional and national outdoor television shows on the air, not including various radio shows, making the competition for sponsorship extremely high. Most outdoorsmen think that all that’s required to get national sponsors to give them money to pay for their air time, travel licenses and hopefully a little salary to live on is to be a great hunter, videographer and/or producer. But far more is required. Those who give the most to their sponsors, get the most from their sponsors.
If you want to be an outdoor TV host, ask yourself what can you do for a sponsor that’s not already being done for him? Can you and your TV show increase the sales of the products the company makes? Also, how can the sponsor evaluate the impact that you and your TV show have on his company’s increased sales? Just because you have or you’re planning to produce a TV show doesn’t mean you are worthy of sponsorship. What type of sponsorship do you want? Most state, regional and even many national outdoor television shows are only sponsored with product. To move up to the level of sponsorship that Chad Schearer and many other nationally-sponsored TV shows have, you’ve got to do far more then just being on TV. Today, Schearer tells us what’s required to get sponsors and keep them. Learn more at http://www.shootstraighttv.com.
