Special Fall Snapper Season at Alabama’s Gulf Coast – Bigger and Better Than Ever
Day 2: Fish Head Boats During the Alabama Gulf Coast’s Fall Red Snapper Season with Captain Butch Tucker
Editor’s Note: Every weekend from October 1 until 12:01 am on November 22 this fall, anglers can catch and keep their limits of red snapper on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. But there’s more than just snapper biting. This week we’ll talk to captains in Orange Beach about the trips they’ve taken at the first of snapper season. You can see just what red snapper season will be like for you and your family, if you head to Alabama’s Gulf Coast during October and November. For more information on fishing guides and charter boats, lodging accommodations, restaurants and entertainment on Alabama's Gulf Coast, call Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism at 800-745-SAND (7263), or go to www.orangebeach.com. You also can get a fishing report three times each week by checking-out the "What's Biting?" column at www.orangebeach.com/fishing/biting/.
With the special fall red snapper season that runs from October 1 to 12:01 am on November 22, many anglers want to go and catch these fish but perhaps don’t have enough people in their party to have a private charter. However, at most of the marinas on Alabama’s Gulf Coast, you can get on a head boat, if you are fishing by yourself or only have one or two in the party. The “Zeke’s Lady,” with Captain Butch Tucker, is an example. We interviewed Captain Tucker and photographed of some of the smiling fishermen who got off his boat after a 6-hour charter. We saw plenty of nice red snapper, vermilion snapper, triggerfish and white snapper. This trip a bargain for bargain-conscious anglers, but to learn more about fishing on the head boat and see some of the picture of Captain Tucker’s catch, click on this video.
If you want to go fishing with on “Zeke’s Lady,” contact Zeke’s Marina by calling 1-800-793-4044 or 251-981-4044, emailing info@zekeslanding.com, or visiting www.zekeslanding.com.
